Arche
About installation
Arché is the primordial principle guiding the universe. According to Thales, arché is water – the source of all existing things that is constantly changing, in terms of both state of aggregation and shape. It is an element that gives and takes away, creates and destroys. The installation shows the variability of the form of water, its transito-ry nature and delicacy. Dry ice, water and liquid form foam that can be taken into one’s hand, crushed or blown off. Through interaction with the viewer, the foam releases a delicate mist that descends and flows around the installation like water.
